1. Who we are

Selfnova is operated by Samuel Bajzík, trading as Selfnova. For privacy matters contact: self.nova.helper@gmail.com. Samuel Bajzík is the data controller for personal data processed via this site.

2. What we collect

  • Contact data — email address you provide when downloading a free guide, purchasing, or contacting support.
  • Order data — product purchased, transaction ID, country, and amount (collected via Paddle).
  • Usage data — pages visited, referrer, device type, approximate location derived from IP.
  • Support data — content of any message you send us.
  • Cookies — see Section 9.

3. Why we use it (purposes and legal basis)

  • Provide the service (deliver your guide, manage your order) — contract performance.
  • Customer support — legitimate interest in responding to your requests.
  • Security and fraud prevention — legitimate interest in protecting the service.
  • Product improvement — legitimate interest in understanding usage; aggregated where possible.
  • Legal compliance — tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

Payment data is collected and processed by Paddle (our Merchant of Record) — see Paddle's Privacy Notice.

4. Who we share data with

  • Paddle — Merchant of Record for sales, subscription management, payments, tax, and invoicing.
  • Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, and customer support tooling.
  • Professional advisers — legal and accounting where necessary.
  • Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside the EEA/UK. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above: order records for as long as required for tax/accounting (typically 7–10 years), support messages for up to 3 years, usage data for up to 24 months. After that, we delete or anonymise it.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR if you are in the EEA/UK), you have the right to: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We respond to verified requests within one month. Email self.nova.helper@gmail.com.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable hosting providers — to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; we will notify affected users of material breaches as required by law.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential — required for the site and checkout to function.
  • Analytics — to understand aggregated usage. You can disable these in your browser settings.
